A UNIOSUN student from Ipetu ijesa campus took to Twitter this morning to plead with Don Jazzy for financial assistance, telling him that he was about to be expelled from school for not paying his tuition fees.

In usual Don Jazzy fashion, he replied the fan, asking him how much he owed the school.


The student was quick to take advantage of the opportunity and told the Mavins records  producer that the fee per session is ninety-five thousand nair (N95,000) and he was owing for two sessions, that makes it a total of One hundred and ninty thousand Naira  (N190,000).

Don Jazzy asked him to send his account details as seen in picture,  and after a short while the student took to his twitter account to confirm later that the Don had helped him with his fees.

Surely, a review must be made on the attitudes of the students and the management of this institution. It is crystal clear that the time for a quick resolution has arisen as regards the present atmosphere in the school. Let me say emphatically that the comfort of man lies in the hands of others and it should therefore be noted that he that wants no peace must surely have no peace. It is time for the entire students of Osun State University to rise up against all forms of extortions and anti-students’ policies from the so called inconsiderate management that has insisted on breaking our various hearts and that of our parents.

Inarguably, we are the representatives from our various homes and we are responsible for any decision made. There are some facts that must be known to the masses before it can be easily justified that our actions are borne out of threats, frustration, negligence and most of all a wholly form of isolation suffered by every student of this citadel of learning.

Firstly, we study in a school where payments are made by students for some certain facilities which are not provided. Over the years, a total amount of #10000 has been compelled on us for a malfunctioning ICT and an inadequate or let me say never provided games as parts that make up our tuition fees. We should not neglect the fact that many of us have spent more than three semesters in this school whereby the ICT only provides a locked WI-FI connection which password remains undisclosed to us throughout the semester. I can say it emphatically that it is only if Jesus Christ would come back tomorrow that possibly these facilities would be made available. And they say we shouldn’t talk when the 400level students cannot boast of using the ICT facilities since their days in the University, when we are deprived of our rights, when we are yet to receive what we have been paying for over the semesters. Then…..why shouldn’t we protest?

Students as a matter of fact, often fulfill their own part by sitting for examinations at the end of each semester. It is another course for the management to make a prompt release of the results. Osun State University students suffer a lot when it comes to the aspect of checking results after exams. The management on their own part has continuously ignored the pain caused by a very late release of results. Though they also believe that our results determine our future in the next course registration but yet, they still fail to recognize and subscribe to the fact that late release of results easily delays course registration. Fresh students that were given late registration and change in syllabus have hampered early registration of courses for example. It seems this concept of I DON’T CARE attitude has formed and continued to flow as blood in their veins. The management never cares for us; whether their policies favour us or not, they do not care. Then if that should be the case, why should we not protest? 

Now considering the economic status of the country at large during this moment, it is so embarrassing that the management of this afore mentioned institution heartlessly closed the portal as early as a month and few days after resumption. We had thought that the portal would be reopened for a fortnight time as often observed rather it shocked us so suddenly when the announcement that the portal would be reopened but still on a platform of #10,000 fine. After all forms of unsuccessful intellectual approaches that we took for the reversal of this decision, the management still chose to be at loggerhead with us despite the fact that our parents are deprived of their salaries by various state governors. Is it our fault that our parents wok in Nigeria?

They have just desired on their own to put us in pain by decreeing #10,000 late registration penalty fee. I can’t just envisage the ideas of our management towards this. How do they expect someone that has been striving to pay the actual fee to get the fine? From where do they want a student who finds it hard to feed three times a day to get #10,000? What should a student sponsoring him or her do? How do they expect a student who lost his or her parent along the race to cope? What do they wish for orphans on campus? What should be the fates of the entire students of Osun State University? And they say we should not say a word against injustice, and then….why should we not protest?

Good evening everybody

Uniosun students kicked against the rule of 10,000 naira late reg fee due to the fact that many students are yet to pay their school fees and the crisis the country is presently facing.
The school  portal which was closed early December made some students not to have access to their portals by not been able to pay and register their courses for the present semester up to this very moment ..The situation got worsen when the VC walked out of the student on Monday during a close door meeting with the student leaders.. The student leaders tried to plead on behalf of the students  so as to open the portal back in which after 70-75% students have paid they might close it back and who ever is yet to pay by then will face the consequences of 10,000 Naira late reg fee but the VC said NO.

In defence of peace and unity among the student's and management of Osun State University, we have been gentle and calm in our plea to the management to make learning and school life more conducive for us.

But today, 15th of Jan, 2017, we regret to inform you that the Osun State University management's policies have not been going in our favour.

As a matter of fact, it seems like the new administration (under the new VC) has been initially set up to pull us back and make schooling unbearable for us.

We will not sit and be bullied.

We have tried all possible approaches to dialogue but it seems there is only one language which they understand clearly and we shall speak it to them.

The driver who allegedly killed a beautiful student of the University of Osun has is being made to pay for his evil ways.

An Osun State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Osogbo has ordered that a driver, Mr. Elijah Oyebode, and one Yusuf Ajibade, be remanded in the Ilesa Prison.

The two men were remanded for allegedly killing a 400-level student of the Osun State University, Miss Rofiat Adebisi.

According to Punch Metro, the two accused, who were arraigned by the police on Tuesday, were charged with conspiracy to commit murder and unlawfully receiving an iPhone 5 belonging to the deceased.

The police prosecutor, Mr. Mireti Wilson, told the court that the accused and other suspects currently at large committed the offence on December 23, 2016, at Egbeda in Iragbiji, Osun State.

The prosecutor said Oyebode, aged 22, and his accomplices killed the female student, while Ajibade received the mobile phone of the deceased valued at N100,000 from the alleged killers.

The charges read, “That you, Elijah Oyebode, and Yusuf Ajibade, and others now at large, on December 23, 2016, in the Egbeda-Iragbiji area, in the Iragbiji Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: murder, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 324 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. II, Law of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

“That you, Elijah Oyebode, and others now at large, on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned magisterial district, did kill one Rofiat Damilola Adebisi, a student of the Osun State University, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 319(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. II, Law of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

“That you, Yusuf Ajibade, did unlawfully receive one Apple iPhone 5, valued at N100,000, from one Elijah Oyebode, knowing same to have been stolen, thereby committing an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 427 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. II, Law of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.”

Oyebode was represented in the court by his counsel, Mrs. P.O. Ofoyeju, while Mrs. Bola Adeyinka represented Ajibade.

However, the pleas of the accused were not taken.

The presiding magistrate, Mr. Olusola Aluko, ordered that the accused be remanded in the Ilesha Prison, while the Investigating Police Officer in the case should duplicate the case file and send same to the Department of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

He also ruled that the case should be transferred to Court 4 and adjourned till March 31, 2017, for mention.

As part of the commitments to support rapid progress for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by Africa, the Vice-Chancellor, Osun State University, Professor Labode Popoola joined over 200 global leaders in government, business, academia and civil society on Friday 27 January, 2017 in Kigali, Rwanda to launch the Sustainable Development Goals Centre for Africa (SDGC/A). The primary objective of the event was to discuss the major themes relevant to the SDGs implementation in Africa, including a presentation of the Africa Report 2030 as well as the official launch of the Center.

The SDGC/A was established by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, following the signing of the historic agreement on Sustainable Development Goals during the UN General Assembly in September 2015. The launch is part of the Centre’s efforts at “Expediting the Implementation of Africa’s 2030 Agenda”. The event was co-organized by SDGC/A and the Association of African Development Finance Institutions (AADFI), with support from The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).


The Vice Chancellor, Osun State University (UNIOSUN), Prof. Labode Popoola who is also the Co-Director, Sustainable Development Solutions Network-Nigeria (SDSN-Nigeria) stated that the conference discussed ideas about how to leverage technology and innovation as well as stakeholder buy-in to achieve the SDGs. He emphasized that the Centre will not impose its ideas on member countries but, will provide technical back-stopping in doing research and adaptation to technology, as well as availing African countries the expertise that will enhance result-oriented implementation of the SDGs.”

When asked how the centre will help implement the SDGs, Popoola said, “the centre, by itself, is not meant to implement the SDGs but will strive to support technical innovations and also provide access to information on emerging issues in sustainable development; support African governments in developing new funding models to finance SDGs implementation in their respective countries, in addition to linking them with international SDGs financing sources. According to him, implementation of the SDGs is not the task of governments alone, but that of all citizens, particularly, the youths, businesses and researchers. To be able to play an active role in the process, Osun State University will formally join the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN-Nigeria).

At the event were the Chairman of the Board of the Centre, His Excellency President Paul Kagame of the Republic of Rwanda who also gave a keynote address; the Co-chairman, Mr. Aliko Dangote, a prominent Nigerian and international businessman and Hajia Amina J. Mohammed, Honourable Minister of Environment of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Deputy Secretary-General designate of the United Nations among others. It would be recalled that President Muhamadu Buhari joined other world leaders in September 2015 to launch the SDGs at the UN, thus effectively making Nigeria a key stakeholder in the Agenda 2030.

I welcome you all, most heartily; to this august occasion that marks the official entry of every student into higher institutions of learning. It is significant because it is a statutory gathering to formally admit deserving and qualified candidates who are fortunate to be offered admission into this institution. Why should the matriculating students of today count themselves fortunate?

For 2016/2017 academic session, a total number of six thousand, seven hundred and seventy-nine (6779) candidates applied to Osun State University to study various courses being offered in the Institution. Of this number, only two thousand, seven hundred and fifty (2750) candidates were offered admission having been found successful in the mandatory Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), and the oral screening conducted by the University to further ascertain and strengthen the quality of candidates being admitted to the University in particular. Our record shows a snapshot of the 2016/2017 Admission Exercise as follows: College of Agriculture-125, College of Education-322, College of Health Sciences-451, College of Science, Engineering and Technology-720, College of Management and Social Sciences-736, College of Humanities and Culture- 349 and College of Law- 47. Being among the lucky few calls for deep reflections.

Licensed on 21 December, 2006 as the 30th State University and the 80th overall in the country (for which we are also known as “3080”), this University commenced academic activities in September, 2007 and has maintained a steady academic calendar. A simple testimony to this is that while many Universities in Nigeria are still battling with the 2015/2016 academic session your University is already in the 2016/2017 academic session. We indeed desire this trend to continue.

The University as of now has about 44 academic programmes, out of which all the 39 that are mature for accreditation are fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC). Our Postgraduate College also commenced admission of students in the 2015/2016 academic session.

It may interest you to know that you are the very first set of students that I am admitting into the membership of this unique community (i.e. UNIOSUN) in my capacity as the third substantive Vice-Chancellor of this University. I envision a state University that is first among equals, most preferred, making significant contributions to the society, an efficiently run, self-reliant, sustainable institution and a force to reckon with among Universities globally; a truly 21st century University by the end of my tenure. Gladly, you have come at the right time, and I challenge you to enlist in this noble vision.

You need to continually remember that the distance between today’s ceremony and convocation ceremony is quite wide and it is important that the journey ends successfully. For this to happen, you need to be regular in attendance at lectures, carrying out all your assignments, shunning deviant behaviours and other vices that can expose you and others to danger. This University has zero tolerance for cultism, any form of hooliganism and corruption. I need to further advise you to show respect to your colleagues and staff in the University to make your stay fruitful and productive. Be modest and decent in your dressing and approach to issues. I am aware that in the just concluded orientation programme conducted across the campuses in the University, you must have been informed of the co-curricula activities available on our campuses. We will strive to improve on them as time goes by. Please, avail yourself of these opportunities, not only to excel in learning, but possibly to become our sport Ambassadors. Please strive to uphold the ideals of the University.

In spite of dwindling resources, the University has managed to stay afloat to deliver good services to our students. We must continue to be prudent with, and make judicious use of our meagre resources by blocking every possible leakage. Your role in prompt payment of fees and other charges would assist the University greatly in this regard.

The recent audit of the payment of fees reveals that the University is being owed over Two Billion Naira. This unwholesome trend must stop. The University has therefore, decided that no students will be allowed to write examinations without full payment of all prescribed fees. We need your cooperation in this regard to enable us deliver on our mandate of producing graduates that are globally competitive and can contribute meaningfully to global development. On our part, we assure you of probity, transparency and accountability in the use of your resources.

.Finally, I wish to assure you of maximum security on all our campuses. We however, plead that you do not hesitate to report any suspicious activities to the Dean of Student Affairs, Sub-Deans, Security Officers attached to you campuses, and your Course Advisers. Be reminded that the oath you have taken today is to be obedient to the Vice-Chancellor, all those in authority, and to be of good conduct throughout your stay in the University. Please be warned that a breach of the oath taken today will definitely attract appropriate sanctions. Again, I admonish you to steer clear of cultism, hooliganism and other forms of social menace.

I pray that the Almighty God will watch over all of you, prosper you and make you all a source of pride to your families, states, country and humanity. Today’s joy shall be permanent. Amen.

The Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University, Professor Labode Popoola, Wednesday, said no fewer than two thousand, seven hundred and fifty (2,750) qualified candidates were admitted for 2016/2017 academic session even as he reiterated his commitment to fighting cultism and corruption in the institution.

Professor Popoola made this known in his speech delivered at the University’s 10th Matriculation Ceremony held across all campuses of the institution on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. He said the 2,750 matriculating students were found qualified and offered admission out of a total number of six thousand, seven hundred and seventy-nine (6779) candidates who applied to study various courses being offered in the University.

In the past few weeks, Osun State University campus,Ikire has recorded a very low level of students appearance at the college library. A standard structure which lay at the very extreme left of the campus yard, has been managed by the librarian and other professionals staffs, this well conducive environment is equipped to contain a capacity of about 200 students at a time.

According to the statistics generated by the HISSA press crew after several days of delay as a result of the non teaching academic staff union strike which lasted a week, the team did an objective critical analysis of students that made use of the library between 10th of January to the15th of the same month. The research proved that from the 10th of January 2017 the numbers of attendant on the journal was 18students,on the 11th 59students were recorded,48,34,64 respectively, it totals at 251students,with 400level  having 60% appearance,100level with 30% then 200level and 300level shares 10% respectively.
This statistics however proven to be embarrassing shows how much the reading culture among the college students is at a very minimal level,well it should be noted that understanding comes under the ability of being able to grasp in an atmosphere that creates the best opportunity to explore varieties of scholarly ideas which emanated from the late centuries especially with the  theories and the contemporary.


Being cutaway of this opportunity is not in any way a social problem but the inability of a learner or student to have a self command by being ascetic of knowing what to do with resources that lies around him. There are now urgent calls on students to have a pragmatic and proactive measure towards the way they relate with the institutions that lies around them
In a bid to relate reasons why the university library has become a shrine where students flee from,it was discovered that legacy has lost its cloak of integrity amidst the flag bearers or those I will call the forerunners or ambassadors of great institution.


The fresher’s has been exposed to a world where there are diversities in every sphere of influence, differentiations in ideological beliefs and practicality towards oneself and to the immediate environment this is what could be called the secondary socialization, the school (university) is one of the major secondary institution of socialization which the library cannot be left out as an instrument of socializing.


In essence secondary socializing should come from mainly the 300 and 400level students whom should act as agencies and instrument alongside the library institution. By this collaboration,a clear sense of belonging would spurn within the student for social consciousness which in turn becomes an added value to students academic performance and also a reorientation.


Although there has been lots of complaints regarding the lack of enough materials in the college library which is one of the best amongst the six campus of the university, it is important to note that the school won't see it as something important to equip the library with more materials since they know the students themselves don't patronize it. This is one of the reasons why the agitation for reequipping the library has been a thing of joke especially in the school administration's part.


It’s high time we all recognize our responsibility as a social being in this society and begin to explore what we have and taking advantage of what we posses, what will change us, what will give us the intellectual capability to sit with brains around the world, what will expunge the ignorance in us and awaken the psychological neurons in our brain.

It is with joy and happiness that I pen down this letter to all the matriculating students of Osun State University, Ikire Campus. I must congratulate you all on your matriculation that was held today, 8th of February, 2017 as it is a fulfillment of one of your dreams.

I facilitate with you all, as today's memory continues to linger in our brain. I hope you will be able to gather the best of knowledge and experience throughout your stay on campus. I will also want you to take a deep reflection on the OATH you took today.

I will want you all to take proper note of where you promised to pay due respect and obedience to the authorities of the Osun State University and, faithfully observe all regulations and directives which may from time to time be issued for good administration of the University. We must not forget the part including directives, that students should make restitution for any damage done by students, to the property of the University or the Public in course of protest or otherwise.

I must not forget to raise your consciousness to where you promised not to belong to any "secret society" during your period of studentship in Osun State University. I must also remind you where you promised not to, either alone or in conjunction with other students, engage in any act of violence or other improper conducts but, to shun immoral vices and act in accordance with the school rules and regulations.
  
Finally, I urge you all to keep all this aforementioned promises till you graduate, so as to have a hitch-free stay on campus. To wrap it up, never forget what the Book of Ecclesiastes says, "Never forget thy God in the days of thy youth". You are now a bonafied student of Osun State University, Ikire Campus.

Senate has approved that the registration portal be opened for use on Friday 17 February and be closed by Friday 24 February, 2017. You are advised to conclude your registration, including payment of late registration charge within this period. These are simple rules that apply in all civilized climes. For the avoidance of doubts, NO unregistered student will be allowed to write examinations. Such students are advised to stay clear of examination centres.

When we were kids we all always had dreams of becoming either a doctor,  an engineer, a lawyer, a banker(not knowing it was accountant we meant) and so on...  We all wanted to become all this things as kids but only a few of us have actually achieved them today......

But the real question is have the rest of us failed???? Did we really miss it???? Why are we not those things we wanted to be today????

When I was in primary 5, I remembered vividly I wanted to become a petroleum engineer.. Well funny enough today am in my 4th year as an agricultural economist(😃😃😃)...
I asked myself one day how did I get it wrong???  How did I go from wanting to be an engineer to being a farmer/business man???

Then I thought when I was in pry 5 why did I want to be an engineer in the first place???  Well I actually wanted to become an engineer because I thought engineers earned 1$ as salary and that 1$ would buy me a house a banana highland and a car😃😃😃.. As a kid I wanted to become an engineer because the society painted something bad in my brain.. Growing up the society I witnessed in one way or another told me only if you are somethings that you can actually be considered as a first class citizen..  The society thought me that you are only relevant if you are a doctor, an engineer or a lawyer.... The society influenced the dream I had..  The society didn't give the other occupations relevance..

If my teacher wanted to refer to us,  he would say you guys are future doctors, engineers,  lawyers etc..  He never said you guys are future teachers!!!!!  He obviously didn't want to become a teacher.... In the process of growing up we got to realize that not all of us can be doctors, not all can be lawyers,  we can't all be pilots.... What we all could be and grew up to be were people of our own reality... We realized we didn't have to be lawyers doctors or any of this things to become first class citizens..  All we needed to be was what the society never thought us to be *THE BEST VERSION OF OURSELVES*....

So if you are matriculating today and you feel you could have done better or studied a better course..  I want you to ask yourself this simple question WHICH IS REALLY BETTER,  BEING A BETTER VERSION OF YOURSELF OR DOING A BETTER COURSE???!

If I Had learn one thing in life it will be society doesn't care who you are doctor lawyer farmer teacher until you make them care who you are,  until you impact something they cant overlook...

So you guys should see today as a day in which your dream really begins.... Paint a picture of what you want to get from where you are and make sure you don't give up until you achieve it!!!

The society doesn't need more doctors and engineers it needs more creative selfless and beautiful minds...

You have 4-5 years to prove to the world you are worthy of becoming a 1st class citizen Of life...

The issue of threats by security agencies towards the students of Osun State University, has been reported not have ended across the six campuses, as a student of the Faculty of Education, Ipetu-Ijesha Campus was beaten mercilessly by some Air force officers.

Comrade Mahatma, who happens to have been the victim of this case, narrated his own side of the story. He said, "I was so shocked with what happened that day; I noticed two boys fighting and, before I got to the scene, some Air force officers living very close had taken up the case and was already beating one of the boys; On getting there, I pleaded for mercy for the student that was being beaten but to my surprise, I was turned over and beaten mercilessly by this Air force officials."

The Comrade, who stood to fight for his fellow student, said he was very disappointed at his colleagues who ran and watched the scenario that was happening to him afar off. He also expressed his disappointment at the management who has however handled the case with levity, as well as the police.

It could be recalled that the threat the armed forces have been posing to the students of the school at Oshogbo campus, was just recently addressed when another came up this Monday.

Today's Joint Student Campus Committee(JSCC) meeting dealt with serious issues pertaining to the University, from the unseen constitution to the selection of electoral committee... The students of the Osun State University cut across all the campuses converged and had a peaceful cum efficacious congress at Ipetu-Ijesa campus.

The students were apprised about the most anticipated students union to surface in the institution. And it was affirmed that the union will be in existence less than two weeks. Also, the students union constitution was presented by the Joint Campus committee which was adopted by all students at the congress.

Afterward, the responsibility of coordinating the upcoming election was reposed on the newly nominated representatives from all campuses, as election calendar will soon be unveiled by the newly inaugurated committee.

In light of the recent assault that was exhibited by some Air Force members on some students of Ipetu Ijesa campus, the Chairman of the Joint Campus Committee, Mr. Victor Ohamara assured all students that necessary measures have been ongoing to be put in place so as not experience such occurrence in days ahead.

The burning issue in mind of students which is the early closure of portal was also addressed. The Joint Campus Committee delivered the report of meeting with the  management that the portal will be opened by 17th - 21st February and the late registration penalty of #10,000 will not be excluded. This, all students present at the congress kicked against by chanting *'We won't subscribe to that policy'.* They all sent back the Joint Campus Committee to the institution's management to convey their stance in terms of calling for reversal of the policy.

The congress was adjourned with anticipated swift response from the management as regards the late registration penalty.

In an interview section with the Vice Chairman of Joint Campus Committee, Mr. Boluwaji Afolabi, he affirmed, "the committee will absolutely and strongly convey the stance of the students to the management". Also, he preaches for unity to keep on in all campuses so as to achieve positive and the so much desired reversal of late registration penalty.

Reports reaching us shows the the school calendar has been revised and the 2016/2017 Harmattan semester exams will start fully on the 6th of March 2017.

According to information gathered, the school will stick to its 'no fees no exams' policy which will then pave way for the re-opening of the school's student portal for fees payment and course registration.

No student will be allowed to write exams if they haven't paid their fees or registered their courses. This is coming as a heads-up to those who haven't paid their fees or who are still yet to register their courses.

A popular lecturer in the department of French and International Studies, Osun State University, Ikire campus, Dr Wende who doubles as the Secretary of ASUU; Uniosun , had said that his teaching skills supercede the rate at which he consumes morsels of pounded yam.

Dr.Wende consciously said this while delivering his speech at the Pan Africanist’s programme which was held yesterday at the college in ETF building.

Also in his speech,the French lecturer highlighted the fact that a struggle cannot be championed without a destination and that there must be a factor instilling such struggle.

He however decried colonial education saying that the colonialists did not give Africans the normal education but a cosmetic-kind of education.

Dr.Wende said that the kind of education given to Africans by the whites was only meant to take over the political, economic, religious system and the cultural values of the black race.

I want to change some ladies' mindset today. You see, men are not dogs. Not all of them are mad. It doesn't mean a thing to you but to guys it means the universe! Men are moved by sight. Wearing armless (exposing your shaved armpit and upper arm) can turn a man on talkless of the low neckline exposing the cleavage of your breasts. Tight trousers, tights (panty hose) which shows the shape of your buttock, mini and micro mini skirts exposing your thigh all can make a man go wild! Better face reality now and mind the way you dress. Some ladies say it doesn't matter. Men should be able to control themselves. They are entitled to what they wear. Then you should be able to control yourself when they start asking you for sex and not come here lamenting all men are dogs!

I saw a lady around Yaba sometime ago and I whistled. Jesus  Christ! Why would you give all the guys in your life pet names? You say, "thanks dear," "okay sweetie", "see you dearie", "bye love", etc., you are looking for serious trouble. Words like this turns a man on.

5. YOU PRAISE MEN TOO MUCH: This shouldn't be a problem at all but experience has taught me that men are attracted and eventually turned on by women who praise them silly! You can compliment men if you want to but be discreet and casual about it. Don't over do anything. Telling a guy, "whao! what a nice moustache you've got!" or that "muscle on your arm can make any lady go crazy for you" is indirectly telling him you like his body and wouldn't mind if he sleeps with you

You don't need to hide in darkness to express your heart.

9. YOU SLEEP AT YOUR FIANCE'S HOUSE: Why are you in a hurry to sleep under thesame roof with a man? Why are you in a hurry? What is your problem? Some ladies can't wait for a man to propose. They pack their bags and move to his house immediately. For what? And when that one gets tired of the sex, he sends them packing and we are here listening to all their tales of woe! Some don't even expect their man to ask for sex. Aaah! 10. YOU EXPECT MEN TO ASK FOR SEX: Some ladies think because they are exceptionally beautiful, men will always ask for sex so it's not really their fault that they sleep around.

There is no doubt that the intentions of the founders of Pyrates Confraternity were altruistic. They obviously did not set out to create the hydra-headed monster (or phenomenon) known as cultism in today’s terminology. But like a farmer clearing a bush in the harmattan and setting a fire to a heap of dry leaves, what started with a group of six has now become a chimeric underground movement, a tyrannical monster with many heads.

The list of the secret cults operating in our educational institutions looks like what you will find in the encyclopedia of any computer anti-virus software. At the count it was estimated that there are 44 cult groups operating in various campuses in Nigeria. This is probably an underestimate. This cult group was the first identifiable cult group formed between 1952 and 1954 at the foremost Western University of Ibadan now University of Ibadan by seven persons namely: Ralph Opara, Ikhehare Aig-Imokhuede, Sylvanus Egbuchie, Nathaniel Oyelola, Pius Oleghe, Olumuyiwa Awe and Wole Soyinka. The pioneers of  NAS were collectively known as “The Magnificent Seven”. It was headed by CAPON BLOOD. The aims was basically to combat the then increasing occurrence of violence caused by tribal groups during students’ activities, western influences and other secular gatherings, in ways suitable to the cult group but with the advent of time  deviation of purpose manifested. In 1972, a member of the Pyrates Confraternity, Bolaji Crew (Code-named “Late Ahoy Rica Ricardo” and others were indifferent to the teachings and doctrine of the confraternity and as such, before one could say Jack Robinson, the birth of  a new cult group named Buccaneer emerged structuring it styles and hierarchical structure after the Pyrates. Different notorious cult groups had emerging without check from the concerned authority, unleashing terror on humanity and posterity.

Three young men formed this confraternity in 1982 (also known as de Norsemen Club of Nigeria) was founded by a former members of the Buccaneers at the University of Port Harcourt, with code-name namely:

It was also called victory COSSA presently the Alpha Marine patrols.

THE NEO BLACK MOVEMENT OF AFRICA

 

BLACK AXE CONFRATERNITY

AYE-AXEMEN

 

This cult was formed at the University of Benin in Benin City in 1976 by some young men with the motive of building a body to fight against the oppression against Blackman (Students) in the university. Those who initiated this association are rumoured to be runaways from Neo black Movement of Africa, an organization in South Africa that fought the apartheid war and escape into Nigeria for safety. Investigation has shown that it was the borrowed notion that was imported to Nigeria.

This cult was formed in 1978 at the University of Ilorin in Kwara State, but started operation in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1980. It started with eight (8) persons in its mob (institution) called the ONO-BRIGADO (1st Brigade) with the first Don as Don KOOLKAT. This cult is styled after the notorious Chicago and Italian Mafia/Mob stars.

ETERNAL FRATERNAL ORDER OF LEGION CONSORTIUM

Klansmen Konfratanity

 

The K.K.K. cult was started by five students at the University of Calabar, Cross River State in 1986 during the military era. It ideals were borrowed from a cult in California and bears another name known as ETERNAL FRATERNAL ORDER OF LEGION CONSORTIUM or KLANSMEN KONFRATERNITY (KK). Members worship a demon called “Ogor” as their god. Symbolized by a human skull, mostly that of a mad/insane man.

Some officers of the Nigerian police on Saturday, 21st January, 2017, accused some students of the Osun State University of being Internet fraudsters and subsequently shot at them while they were enjoying a game of football. While some of the students escaped the assault unscathed, two students were not lucky as they were hit by bullets. This is not the first time men of the Nigeria Police Force would engage in such a horrendous activity. It was revealed by the students that before the policemen shot at them, they requested bribe, which they refused to give them. Their refusal to part with some amount of money infuriated the policemen who then chose to attack the students.

The management of the institution led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Labode Popoola, immediately swift into action in respect of the act of the police brutality against some students of the institution. Prof. Popoola, immediately briefed the Governor and Visitor to the Institution, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Grace Titi Laoye-Tomori about the ugly incident. He added that he was with the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fimihan Adeoye, who confirmed  that the police officers involved had been arrested and detained with the assurance that that the matter will be investigated appropriately.

The Vice Chancellor stated that the injured students received appropriate medical attention and has recuperated. Prof. Popoola also stated that the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Titi-Laoye Tomori   also visited the students while receiving treatment at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.

The management of the institution observed that students were incensed due to the ill treatments received from the Nigerian Police in the recent times. It was also noted that the members of the immediate student Community were so embittered with the way and manner that the policemen had been operating within the environment, particularly towards the students of the University. Before this particular incident, the students’ representatives had reported to the authorities the issue of policemen unlawfully invading their hostels, arresting them, collecting their belongings and harassing them. This shows how policemen mistreat the students without being challenged or questioned.

The management of Osun State University appealed to Osun State Commissioner of Police to always ensure adequate monitoring of the way the Nigeria Police officers operate within the environment, particularly towards the students of the University.
