Students' Union In Uniosun To Kick Start In A Jiffy As Portal To Be Re-opened By February 17th To 21st

The students of the Osun State University cut across all the campuses converged and had a peaceful cum efficacious congress at Ipetu-Ijesa campus.

The students were apprised about the most anticipated students union to surface in the institution. And it was affirmed that the union will be in existence less than two weeks. Also, the students union constitution was presented by the Joint Campus committee which was adopted by all students at the congress.

Afterward, the responsibility of coordinating the upcoming election was reposed on the newly nominated representatives from all campuses, as election calendar will soon be unveiled by the newly inaugurated committee.

Akinlade Boluwatife (General Secretary) and Adeleke Michael
*- Okuku Campus*
Akindele Abiola (Treasurer) and Adedeji Blessing
*- Ejigbo Campus*
Akinkunmi Sheriff and Jumoke Omowumi
*- Ipetu Campus*
Folorunsho Adetunji and Adebayo Monsurat
*- Ikire Campus*
Adesina Jacob and Alabi Oladeji

In light of the recent assault that was exhibited by some Air Force members on some students of Ipetu Ijesa campus, the Chairman of the Joint Campus Committee, Mr. Victor Ohamara assured all students that necessary measures have been ongoing to be put in place so as not experience such occurrence in days ahead.

The burning issue in mind of students which is the early closure of portal was also addressed. The Joint Campus Committee delivered the report of meeting with the  management that the portal will be opened by 17th - 21st February and the late registration penalty of #10,000 will not be excluded. This, all students present at the congress kicked against by chanting *'We won't subscribe to that policy'.* They all sent back the Joint Campus Committee to the institution's management to convey their stance in terms of calling for reversal of the policy.

The congress was adjourned with anticipated swift response from the management as regards the late registration penalty.

In an interview section with the Vice Chairman of Joint Campus Committee, Mr. Boluwaji Afolabi, he affirmed, "the committee will absolutely and strongly convey the stance of the students to the management". Also, he preaches for unity to keep on in all campuses so as to achieve positive and the so much desired reversal of late registration penalty.
